Mr. Batterson is a 3rd generation native Floridian and proud University of Florida graduate, who has practiced site civil
design, development and construction in Central Florida since 1999. He represents both public and private clients including
Cities, Counties, FDOT, property owners, developers, homebuilders, and design-build contractors in all phases of
development for commercial, industrial, office, retail, residential, multi-family and mixed-use projects focusing on scheduling,
due diligence, design, permitting, entitlements, and governmental relations regarding the overall development processes of
properties throughout Florida.
His experience boasts multiple cases of successful representation involving land use, zoning, and other
permitting/entitlement issues in numerous jurisdictions including Developments of Regional Impact (DRIs), comprehensive
plan amendments, re-zonings, planned developments, special exceptions, variances, conditional use permits, as well as
assisting in development agreements, development orders, annexation agreements, and concurrency approvals in the areas
of school capacity, transportation, and utilities.
He has supervised and directed a variety of teams over the years consisting of planners, engineers, designers, technicians,
engineering interns and administrative staff. He has proven successful time after time in overseeing the permitting design
and plans preparation for site/civil related development projects, proposal preparations, feasibility studies, budgeting, billing,
client coordination, etc. while meeting demanding schedules.

Mr. Batterson has specialized experience in the area of right-of-way acquisition and eminent domain; and has assisted local governments and the FDOT on the acquisition of over 800 parcels. He is qualified as an expert witness in the areas of civil engineering and land planning, utilities, land development, storm water design and environmental permitting.
